Thistlegarten is a unique program that offers a morning educational experience and an afternoon enrichment program, 8:30am-5:30pm, Monday through Friday.  The programs are mixed age, from 6 months to 5 years and incorporate experiences in movement, music, art, drama, cooking, sports, math, science, and tutoring.

Developing Empathy through Creativity and Play...

Sandi McCreadie, the founder and director of Thistlegarten Creative Arts PreSchool, earned her BS in Child Development in 1978 and her MAT in Early Childhood Education in 1980.  With a vast background as a performing artist-- including television and Broadway shows as a singer, actor and dancer--she founded the popular Thistle Down Express creative arts enrichment program focusing on the foundational elements of music, movement, art, dramatics and science when she became a mother in 1981.  Her philosophy uses creative exploration and imaginative play to develop inter- and intra-personal skills of empathy, teamwork and character development for young people during their most formative years.  Graduates have gone on to become today's creative CEO's, world champion performers, and beacons of positivity in their communities.
